Demis Roussos 

 

나나 무스쿠리와 함께 그리스가 배출한 최고의 보컬로 평가되는 Demis Roussos는 1947년 이집트의 알렉산드리아에서 태어났으며 큰 체구와는 달리 가냘픈 목소리를 가진 가수이다. 
어릴적 친구였던 반젤리스와 함께 "Aphrodite's Child"의 멤버였던 그는 그룹의 해체 이후 영화 음악가로서
활발한 활동을 하고있는 반젤리스와 더불어 가장 의욕적인 활동을 펼치며, 특유의 허스키한 감성적인 고음의 바이브레이션 발성으로 국내에서도 많은 팬층을 확보하고 있다.

1967년 결성된 "Aphrodite's Child" 란 그룹 자체의 유명세와 반젤리스란 너무도 유명한 아티스트로 인해 국내에서는 Demis Roussos란 아티스트에 대하여 별로 알려진 정보는 없다.
Demis Roussos 대표곡으로는 1977년 발표된 잃어버린 사랑을 애절하게 노래하고 있는 "Goodbye My Love Goodbye"와 1988년 발표한 겨울의 쓸쓸함을 찬바람으로 표현한 애조띤 분위기의 노래 "Comme Le Vent Dhier" 등이 있다.

 

Alain Morisod(알랭 모리소드) & Sweet People

스위스 출신 그룹

 

Sweet People은 여성싱어 Mady Rudaz, 싱어겸 기타리스트 Jean-Jacques Egli 와 Fred Vonlanthen, 그룹리더인 작곡자겸 피아니스트 Alain Morisod 등 4인으로 구성된 스위스 출신의 그룹이다. Sweet People의 리더는 대부분의 곡을 작곡한 Alain Morisod.

Sweet People은 1980년 Neige가 수록된 앨범으로 첫번째 골드앨범을 만들어내고 Au Revoir가 수록된 앨범으로 1982년 두번째 골드앨범을 탄생시킨다. 이때 발매된 앨범이 'A Womderful Day'이다. 국내에서 발매된 앨범은 LP(Tape)로 11개 CD로 7개 정도인데, 중복되는 앨범도 있고 히트곡 모음도 2번 발매되었다. 1980~1985년까지 친구의 동료인 Christian Morin과 함께 TV 프로듀서로 근무하기도 했으며 현재 멤버는 4명으로 위의 세명과 함께 기타와 보컬을 담당하고 있는 Fred Vonlanthen (1995년~ )이 그룹을 구성하여 스위스 제네바 인근 Chevrens 지역에 거주하고 있으며 스튜디오를 소유하고 있다고 한다.

 

새소리, 바다소리 등의 자연음을 사운드로 활용하여 정서상 명상적이고 위안적인 효과를 원하는 대중들에게 생활속의 안식처를 제공하고 있다. 악단의 여러 곡들이 실제 명상 음악이나 배경 음악으로 실생활에 많이 활용됨으로써 들어보지 않은 이가 드물 정도로 그 영향이 상당했었다.
