Ben Goossens의 작품세계

 

Ben Goossens worked for 35 years in his native Belgium as an ad agency art director. After retiring, Goossen's turned to creating photo montages with a distinctive Surrealism style reminiscent of his fellow countryman, René Magritte.

Goossens' images have received awards in a number of prestigious international photography competitions including Gold and Silver medals at the Trierenberg Super Circuit, the world's largest annual photography salon. Goossens has also seen his work widely published, including an in-depth 10 page exposition in the March 2007 edition of Photo Art International. His composite photos are remarkable for their seamless yet painterly renderings of Surrealism dreamscapes.

 

Ben Goossens는 35년간 그의 고향 '벨기에' 에서 광고회사 아트 디렉터로 일해왔다. 은퇴후 그의 동료 Rene Magritte 를 떠올리게 하는 특유의 초현실주의 스타일로 사진 몽타주를 창작하는데 몰두하게 된다.

구센의 이미지는 Trierenberg Super Circuit(세계에서 최대규모의 연례 사진 대회)에서 금메달과 은메달을 받는 등 세계적인 사진 경연대회에서 많은 상을 받았다. 구센은 또한 그의 작품을 Photo Art International 2007년 3월판 10페이지에 수록하는 것을 포함하여 널리 선보이기도 했다. 그의 합성 사진은 매끈하지만 초현실주의 그림과 같은 표현이 두드러진다.

 

실험적 합성 사진 즉 에어브러시 일러스트레이션 사진 작가. 그림인지 사진인지 분간이 잘 안간다. 모든 공간을 하나의 공간에 몰아 넣는다고나 할까. 다양한 공간이 하나로 묶어져 새로운 공간을 만들어낸다. 그림을 계속 보고 있으면 아주 묘한 느낌이 들며 뭔가 재미있으면서도 공포감마저 든다. 보는 사람으로 하여금 각자의 세상을 만들게하는 창조적인 작품이라 생각된다.
